Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: 20+ years, preferably in Urban Water Supply Scheme
- Qualification: B.Tech in Civil Engineering, B.E. in Civil Engineering, or Diploma in Civil Engineering
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning and Execution:
- Plan and execute civil engineering structures such as Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Overhead Water Tanks (OHT), sumps, pump houses, and pipelines (DI, HDPE), including house service connections.
2. Project Management:
- Responsible for planning and executing project activities.
- Review designs and drawings to ensure compliance with quality plans.
- Serve as the single point of contact for clients and sub-contractors.
- Coordinate with sub-contractors and site personnel during surveying, execution, testing, and commissioning of the project.
3. Team Management:
- Determine staffing requirements, conduct team meetings, delegate tasks, and manage project activities across multiple departments and functions.
4. Contractor Management:
- Oversee contractor management, work measurements, and timely billing of sub-contractors.
- Manage project teams, including external suppliers and internal staff.
- Report progress to Head Office with daily, weekly, and monthly updates.
5. Client Billing:
- Ensure timely billing to the client for all executed items by the in-house team or sub-contractors.
- Manage payment from the client, approve extra items and variations, and reconcile materials issued to sub-contractors.
6. Permission Coordination:
- Obtain necessary permissions from respective departments for land and road clearance for civil structures and pipeline laying.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead the project team, define main guidelines, allocate project tasks, and motivate and monitor internal and external resources to accomplish tasks and milestones.
8. Performance Feedback:
- Provide performance feedback regarding allocated resources working on projects.
9. Supply Chain Coordination:
- Coordinate with Supply Chain Management to procure required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers.
- Support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims, and project changes.
