As a Sr. Engineer/Assistant Manager – Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical components, processes, and equipment meet stringent quality standards within the power sector. You will develop and maintain quality plans, conduct inspections, ensure compliance with regulations, and collaborate with suppliers and project teams.

Sr. Engineer/ Assistant Manager – Quality Assurance
- Sector: Power Sector
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Planning & Documentation
- Develop and maintain Manufacturer Quality Plans (MQP) and Field Quality Plans (FQP)
- Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure alignment with industry standards and project requirements
- Ensure all quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans, are current and reflect project needs
2. Inspection & Testing
- Conduct pre-dispatch, stage, and site inspections of electrical components (e.g., transformers, cables, poles, circuit breakers, conductors, insulators, MS items)
- Ensure adherence to IS and IEC standards during inspections and testing
- Perform testing and quality checks on equipment, verifying compliance with specifications
3. Quality Management System (QMS)
- Implement and maintain the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS)
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure continuous improvement
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances
4. Technical Expertise
- Review and interpret equipment and arrangement drawings to ensure project specifications are met
- Provide technical guidance on quality issues to project teams and stakeholders
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure materials and equipment meet quality standards
5. Communication & Reporting
- Prepare and deliver reports on quality performance, inspection findings, and testing results
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to address quality concerns
- Present quality updates and recommendations to management and project teams
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BE-Electrical)
- Experience: 3-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and Inspection within the Power Sector
- Standards & Regulations: Strong knowledge of IS and IEC standards
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting equipment and arrangement drawings
- Experience preparing Manufacturer Quality Plans, Field Quality Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Familiarity with inspection and testing of transformers, cables, poles, circuit breakers, conductors, insulators, and MS items
- Deep understanding and practical experience with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
